Life is simply a reflection of our thinking.

A son and his father were walking in the mountains.

Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!! …
why did that stump trip me?"

To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain:
"AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!! … why did that stump trip me?"

Curious, he yells: "Who are you and why did you put that in my way"

He receives the answer: "Who are you and why did you put that in my way".

Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"

He receives the answer: "Coward!"

He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"

The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention."

And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!" The voice answers: "I admire you!"

Again the man screams: "You are a champion with unlimited power!"

The voice answers: "You are a champion with unlimited power!"

The boy is surprised, but does not understand.

Then the father explains: "People call this echo, but really this is life.

It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection of our thinking.

Mind power allows disabled to take a virtual stroll...

Jo Revill, health editor
The Observer,
Sunday July 2, 2006

A new 'virtual helmet' which harnesses the power of brain waves is allowing severely disabled
people to feel as if they can walk and move again, opening up the prospect of using the mind
to help them control wheelchairs, computers and even false limbs.

Just by imagining their feet moving, patients using wheelchairs can again experience what it
feels like to stroll down a high street, thanks to the work of British scientists who have found a
new way of using the power of thought. They have devised the helmet which can link brain wave
patterns to a virtual reality system, allowing the wearer to enter an illusory world of movement.

The new system has been tried out for the first time by an Austrian man who became a paraplegic
after a swimming accident. Tom Schweiger was injured on holiday in Greece seven years ago
when a huge wave swept him on to rocks, severing the spinal cord in his neck and leaving him
paralysed apart from some movement in his left arm.

Last week 31-year-old Schweiger was able to enter a different virtual world when the scientists from
his home country and a team at University College London tested the new system. When he was
asked by researchers to think about moving either his foot or his hand, the changes in his brain
waves - or electroencephalogram (EEG) signals - were recorded by electrodes on the top of his head.
These were then turned into a control signal which was linked up to the virtual reality system.

Schweiger was given special 3D glasses to wear so that the images created in the 'virtual cave'
created for the experiment, made up of a four-sided room complete with stereo sound and projected
images, gave him the illusion of walking through a street. Different characters appeared on the screen
and talked to him and he was asked to respond.

'I found it exciting, very exciting,' he said afterwards. 'At first it all felt strange, having the cap on and
being asked to think about moving my feet, but gradually I felt as if I was in that world. At one point I
completely forgot it was a virtual world and that I was part of this experiment. It was really interesting,
and much more enjoyable than I expected.'

Mel Slater, professor of virtual environment at UCL, explained: 'Everyone's brain is different and we have
unique EEG patterns, so you have to "train" the computer to recognise which movement corresponds to
which patterns. For example, we know that foot movement is controlled by the EEGs that come from the
top of the head. Every time you think about moving the foot, the same area of the brain is activated,
whether or not you can actually move the foot.'

He added: 'What we have done is to develop software that can identify the different EEG signals, and tie it
up to a virtual reality world. You can control this world purely by thought, and what we hope is that it will
have really practical applications for the future. With this technology people are able to navigate through
their environment, despite the nature of their disabilities.'

Slater believes that within five to 10 years it should be possible to develop the system further to enable people
to control wheelchairs or move prosthetic arms simply by harnessing their thoughts. The system, known as
the Brain-Computer Interface Project, was funded with £900,000 of UK government research money.

One aim is to help individuals with 'locked-in syndrome', where as a result of injury they maintain their brain
function but lose all ability to move except for some movement in their eyes.

Dr Doron Friedman, a UCL computer scientist, said: 'We've been working on this for a number of years, but
this is the first time we've been able to ask someone with a serious disability to use it, to see if he can
immerse himself in this virtual reality environment.'

Friedman said that the biggest problem the scientists were facing was differentiating between EEG signals,
so that they could be absolutely sure a particular one correlated to a particular movement by the disabled
person involved. As people have many different thoughts simultaneously, the researchers need to know
exactly which areas of the brain are being activated by which specific ones.

The ultimate goal is to give people such as Schweiger more freedom in their everyday lives, according to
scientist Robert Leeb, of Graz University of Technology in Austria.

'If you are dependent on other people for absolutely everything, what you would most like is to regain some
independence,' said Leeb.

'I would hope we could eventually use this process to be linked with a wheelchair, so its movements could
be governed by Tom's thoughts. I don't think it is impossible at all.'

The World is Getting Happier....

Source: LiveScience.com

Despite the anxieties of these times, happiness has been on the rise around the world in recent years,
a new survey finds.

The upbeat outlook is attributed to economic growth in previously poor countries, democratisation of others,
and rising social tolerance for women and minority groups.

"It's a surprising finding," said University of Michigan political scientist Ronald Inglehart, who headed up the
survey. "It's widely believed that it's almost impossible to raise an entire country's happiness level."

Denmark is the happiest nation and Zimbabwe the the most glum, he found. (Zimbabwe's longtime ruler
Robert Mugabe was sworn in as president for a sixth term Sunday after a widely discredited runoff in which
he was the only candidate. Observers said the runoff was marred by violence and intimidation.)

The United States ranks 16th.

The results of the survey, going back an average of 17 years in 52 countries and involving 350,000 people, will
be published in the July 2008 issue of the journal Perspectives on Psychological Science. Researchers have
asked the same two questions over the years: "Taking all things together, would you say you are very happy,
rather happy, not very happy, not at all happy?" And, "All things considered, how satisfied are you with your
life as a whole these days?"

A Happiness Index created from the answers rose in 40 countries between 1981 and 2007, and it fell in the
other 12.

Scientists had thought happiness is stable over time when looking at entire societies. "Most previous research
suggests that people and nations are stuck on a 'hedonic treadmill,'" Inglehart said. "The belief has been that no
matter what happens or what we do, basic happiness levels are stable and don't really change."

So Inglehart's team was surprised that happiness "rose substantially." They speculate reasons for the sunny outlooks
include societal shifts in recent decades: Low-income countries such as India and China have experienced
unprecedented rates of economic growth; dozens of medium-income countries have democratised; and there has
been a sharp rise of gender equality and tolerance of ethnic minorities and gays and lesbians in developed societies.

Previous research has found that happiness is partly inherited and that money doesn't buy much of it.

Yet the new survey finds people of rich countries tend to be happier than those of poor countries. And controlling for
economic factors, certain types of societies are much happier than others.

"The results clearly show that the happiest societies are those that allow people the freedom to choose how to live
their lives," Inglehart said.

A survey released last week found one reason America doesn't top the list: Baby Boomers are generally miserable
compared to other generations. Further, a public opinion poll released by the Pew Research Center in April found that
81 percent of Americans say they believe the country is on the "wrong track." The response is the most negative in the
25 years pollsters have asked the question.

The World Values Surveys, led by Inglehart, was funded by the National Science Foundation, the Swedish and
Netherlands Foreign Ministries, and other institutions.

Can Placebos Heal the Economy?

By Alan Tutt
Author of Choose To Believe

With today's economy being such a hot topic in the presidential campaigns, everyone's asking,
"What are the candidates' plans for healing the economy?"

"It may not matter what they do," says Alan Tutt, author of Choose To Believe. "The world around us
reflects the sum total of our beliefs. If we believe the economy is bad, that's what we'll see.
On the other hand, if we believe the economy is only getting better, our experience will prove it to be true.
If the public believes the issue is being effectively handled, we'll see the economy improve. It's that simple."

Placebos are commonly known to have a healing effect, especially in the treatment of pain, allergies,
depression, and warts. While the reason remains unclear, the effectiveness of a placebo is proportional
to the degree of faith the patient has in it. This connection with the power of faith suggests a larger
framework in which the placebo effect may be utilized.

Alan Tutt's fourth book, Choose To Believe, explores the science behind the placebo effect and the power
of faith. "Mystics and religious leaders have told us for thousands of years that if we have enough faith,
anything is possible," says Alan. "What most people don't realize is that there are multiple levels of beliefs,
with some beliefs more powerful than others. This is why our experience sometimes appears to contradict
what we believe."

When FDR was elected president, he stated flatly, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Perhaps he
understood the power of beliefs to motivate the public and turn around a bad economy.

Brain Downloads Will Make Learning Obsolete Within 30 Years

Source: The Telegraph

Children will learn by downloading information directly into their brains within 30 years, the head of
Britain's top private schools organisation has predicted.

Chris Parry, the new chief executive of the Independent Schools Council, said "Matrix-style" technology
would render traditional lessons obsolete.

He told the Times Educational Supplement: "It's a very short route from wireless technology to actually
getting the electrical connections in your brain to absorb that knowledge."

Mr Parry, a former Rear Admiral, spent three years determining the future strategic context for the military
in a senior role at the Ministry of Defence.

He is now preparing the ISC's 1,300 private schools, which collectively teach half a million children, for
a high-tech future.

He told the TES that the Keanu Reeves thriller may not look like science fiction in 30 years' time.

"Within 30 years, sitting down and learning something will be a thing of the past," Mr Parry said.

"I think people will be able to directly access, Matrix-style, all the vocabulary you need for a foreign language,
leaving you just to clear up the grammar."

Control Your Dreams with Lucid Dreaming

Source: ABC News

For many of us, dreams are a strange other world -- puzzling, terrifying and beyond our control.
But some psychologists now say, under the right conditions, we can control our dreams to have
fun or to learn from them.

One way to do that is through lucid dreaming, in which you choose what happens in your dream.
You can fly through the air, swim with dolphins, tame the monster in your nightmares, speak to a
dead relative -- anything you want to do, all the while aware that it's a dream.

"Lucid dreaming is simply a dream in which you know you're dreaming while it's happening," said
Dr. Stephen Laberge, founder of the Lucidity Institute at Stanford University. "So you know,
'This is a dream I'm having,' and therefore, you can control, you can decide. You know it's all in your mind,
so nothing can hurt you. You're free and you can experiment."

Recently, people come to the big island of Hawaii for a two-week session with Laberge, who is widely
considered to be the country's pre-eminent authority on lucid dreaming.

Stephanie Smedes, an animal eye doctor, is here to learn how to have lucid dreams. One of her goals is to
control her nightmares of being chased by an unknown figure, running from room to room.

Smedes hopes that lucid dreaming will "help me to be part of them and then switch them around so I'm not
so frightened of them."

At its most basic level, lucid dreaming involves recognizing that you're dreaming while you're dreaming.

"The key to lucid dreaming is [to] remember to do something in your dreams, to notice that it's a dream,"
Laberge said. "So before bed, you set your mind. Say, 'Tonight, I'm going to be dreaming -- and when I do,
I want to remember to notice that I'm dreaming.'"

To train the mind to realize it's in a dream, Laberge sometimes uses a device called "the nova dreamer."

"It's your sleep mask you wear while you're asleep," Laberge explained. "There are sensors on it that pick up
the rapid eye movements, where your eyes move when you're dreaming."

The sensor triggers flashing lights that penetrate your consciousness. The lights are a visual cue to become aware
that you are dreaming. You can then take over control of your dream as if you were directing a movie.

Two months after the Hawaii conference, ABC News visited Smedes in Seattle to see if she was able to become
a lucid dreamer.

"I have had three dreams I would call lucid dreams," she said, "and I've had a number of near successes."

In one especially vivid lucid dream, Smedes found herself flying above the ocean.

"I thought, 'How did you get here? You said you weren't going to fly in your dreams.' And I went, 'Oh, just stop Steph,
who cares? Be quiet. Just you're here; be excited,'" she said. "And so I saw, first I saw, one dolphin. And then I saw
a school of fish go by. And then I saw a whole pod of dolphins go by. And I got real excited, and I clapped my hands."

Smedes said she hasn't had nightmares again since the Hawaii trip.

But some dream psychologists say lucid dreaming should not be a substitute for dreaming freely.

"The note of caution I would inject is if you focus too much on controlling your dreams, you lose perhaps one of the
most valuable aspects of dreams, which is what they're telling you what you don't know about yourself," said
Dr. Alan Siegel, author of "Dream Wisdom" and a clinical psychologist at the University of California Berkeley.

But people like Smedes say lucid dreaming has brought them amazing breakthroughs -- claiming they are now the
masters of own dreams, for wisdom or just for fun.

Pentagon Scientists Fear Brain-Boosted Enemies

By Noah Shactman
Source: Wired Blog

There's concern in some corners of the U.S. military about "enemy activities in sleep research,"
neuro-pharmaceutical performance enhancement, and "brain-computer interfaces."

And it's not coming from the Pentagon's scientific fringe, or from some tin-hat kook with a Defence
Department badge. The celebrated scientists on the Pentagon's most prestigious scientific advisory
panel, JASON, are the ones worried about adversaries' ability "to exploit advances in Human Performance
Modification, and thus create a threat to national security."

In a recent report, unearthed by Secrecy News, the JASONs are recommending that the American military
push ahead with its own performance-enhancement research -- and monitor foreign studies -- to make sure
that the U.S.' enemies don't suddenly become smarter, faster, or better able to endure the harsh realities of
war than American troops.

The JASONs are particularly concerned about (and excited by) new drugs that promote "brain plasticity" --
rewiring the mind, essentially, by helping to "permanently establishing new neural pathways, and thus new
cognitive capabilities." The military has already tested these neuro-modulators as a way to keep troops alert
after sleepless nights.

But these new drugs will certainly have extensive off-label use for improvement of memory and cognitive
performance. [They] may have the additional effect of weakening or overwriting existing memories.
Depending on the ultimate performance of these drugs, adversaries might use them in training programs or
field operations... to increase troop effectiveness or modify troop behaviour and/or emotional responses.

The scientific group also wants the military to keep close watch on the hardware and software which connects
the human brain to machines. American researchers have used these brain-computer interfaces to develop
new prosthetics -- and to train monkeys to control robotic limbs. Northrop Grumman just won a Pentagon
contract to develop binoculars that will tap the subconscious mind. The JASONs believe "the primary threat
potential for adversarial use of a Brain-Computer interface...

...may arise in a feedback mode, in which a the interface provides a soldier with a simple signal or a pain/pleasure
pulse in response to externally provided situational information. Longer term adversarial developments may include
prosthetic applications providing specialized sensory input or mechanical output.

None of this is likely to happen soon, of course. Even the most basic of these advances -- a drug to effectively,
consistently fight sleep deprivation -- still isn't ready for wartime. "If an opposing force had a significant sleep
advantage, this would pose a serious threat. However, the technical likelihood of such a development is small
at present," the JASONs note.

But since "existing neuro-pharmaceuticals" are "used rather commonly... as study aids." And since "the US
military will certainly test whether, and to what extent, the new lessons of neuroscience can be used in military
training... it is reasonable to expect that adversaries will do so as well. We do not expect the development of
super-soldiers as a result of improved training, although enhanced military capability can certainly be expected."

While it is possible to improve athletic performance using supplements, or banned substances
(e.g the former East German sports teams), such improvements often are either small in effect, highly variable
from individual to individual, or dependent on coordination with highly disciplined training regimes. As a result, t
he tactical advantage that might be gained by any adversary employing supplements is not likely to be
overwhelming in general operations. Special circumstances, as in the use of khat in Somalia, can however
contribute to unexpected enemy behaviour. Therefore it is important for the US to establish and maintain
awareness of adversaries' uses of performance modifying substances (either as part of local culture, or
officially established military policy).

For someone whom I love more than my life...

Once upon a time, there was this girl who had four boyfriends.

She loved the 4th boyfriend the most and adored him with rich robes
and treated him to the finest of delicacies. She gave him nothing but
the best.

She also loved the 3rd boyfriend very much and was always showing him
off to neighboring kingdoms. However, she feared that one day he would
leave her for another.

She also loved her 2nd boyfriend. He was her confidant and was always
kind, considerate and patient with her... Whenever this girl faced a
problem, she could confide in him, and he would help her get through the
difficult times.

The girls 1st boyfriend was a very loyal partner and had made great
contributions in maintaining her wealth and kingdom. However, she did
not love the first boyfriend. Although he loved her deeply, she hardly
took notice of him.

One day, the girl fell ill and she knew her time was short. She
thought of her luxurious life and wondered, I now have four boyfriends
with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone.'

Thus, she asked the 4th boyfriend, I loved you the most, endowed you
with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm
dying, will you follow me and keep me company?'

'No way!' replied the 4th boyfriend, and he walked away without
another word.

His answer cut like a sharp knife right into her heart.

The sad girl then asked the 3rd boyfriend, 'I loved you all my life.
Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?'

'No!' replied the 3rd boyfriend. 'Life is too good! When you die,
I'm going to marry someone else!'

Her heart sank and turned cold.

She then asked the 2nd boyfriend, 'I have always turned to you for
help and you've always been there for me.

When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?'

'I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!' replied the 2nd
boyfriend. 'At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave.'

His answer struck her like a bolt of lightning, and the girl was
devastated.

Then a voice called out: 'I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matter
where you go.'

The girl looked up, and there was her 1st boyfriend. He was very
skinny as he suffered from malnutrition and neglect.

Greatly grieved, the girl said, 'I should have taken much better care
of you when I had the chance!

1st Mind Technique: Affirmation Imprinting (By Noel Jones)

You are probably familiar with affirmations.

They are your 'desires' made into Statements that you read or say to yourself.

DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THIS
SIMPLE MIND TECHNIQUE

The goal with Affirmation Imprinting is to repeat a statement over
and over again, day after day, until it makes an "imprint" on your
subconscious.

Once this occurs, your subconscious mind will sense a difference
between what it sees as being "real" and your outer physical world.

It will seem almost magical the way doors and opportunities open up
for you 'everywhere' in order to make that affirmation a reality.

But wait!

In order for the affirmation imprinting to occur most effectively,
the affirmation statements need to be written a specific way...

---------------------------------------------------
** THREE GUIDELINES TO POWERFUL
AFFIRMATION STATEMENTS
**
---------------------------------------------------

1. THEY MUST BE PERSONAL

You are going to use the words "I" and "My" in each case. For
example, a proper affirmation would be "I am confident when
speaking in front of a large audience", not "You are confident...."

2. THEY MUST BE POSITIVE
You would state your affirmation like this: "I eat healthy meals
each day."

A negative, and thus ineffective affirmation, would be
"I don't eat junk food."

You see - although the subconscious is a powerful tool, it is still
rather simple.

It sees what you are saying as "images" rather than words... so it
can't comprehend words like "don't" and "can't."

When you say, "I don't eat junk food," your subconscious mind
brings up an IMAGE of you and junk food, and you actually begin to
reinforce the behavior that you are trying to change!

3. THEY MUST BE IN PRESENT TENSE

Logically you would think to make your affirmation in the future
tense, as in "I will be successful in my business." But this isn't
the case.

When you put your statement out into the future, no "tension" is
created within the subconscious mind, and therefore NO imprinting
or changes will occur.

Just by changing that same affirmation to present tense, "I AM
successful in my business," you create the tension needed and your
subconscious goes to work.

These three guidelines are CRUCIAL to Affirmation Imprinting.

Ok, now you know how to write persuasive affirmations.

In lesson 3, I'll show you how to "crank up" the power of your
affirmations with my easy '6-STEP System'.

You'll also learn the MOST Effective time of day when you should be
saying your affirmations. (yes, it matters!)

Do *you* procrastinate? (By Noel Jones)

Have you ever noticed how sneaky procrastination can be??

It's incredibly easy to 'fool' ourselves into thinking we're
being productive - but at the end of the day we find we've
gotten precious little done.

Have you ever found yourself surfing the internet, watching
TV, doing housework or running errands so as to 'avoid'
working on something you don't want to do?

Mostly, we don't even realize that's what we're doing -
letting procrastination sneak into our lives.

Where's the DANGER?...

It's when we DON'T recognize what's happening - and
slowly, but surely, it reaches out and touches all the major
plans in our lives.

Before you know it, a week, a month or even another year
has gone by and your important objectives haven't been
achieved.

The Good news is... there's a "simple little thing" you can do
to STOP it from getting out of control!

You can overcome procrastination and empower yourself
with Motivation by 'watching' my videos for only 5 to 10
mins a day, here:
http://www.mindpowerskills.info/info.php

-------------------------------------------------
Before You Start Any Task, Ask Yourself ...
-------------------------------------------------

3 SIMPLE QUESTIONS:

"Am I using this activity to *avoid* doing something else?"

"Is this really important to do now?"

"Is there something *more important* I could be doing?"

Answering these questions will quickly let you know if
procrastination is sneaking in...

Don't get me wrong here! There's nothing wrong with
"putting something off" 'till tomorrow, or even longer. It's
just really really important to recognize that's what you're
doing.

For instance: Just be more "aware" of the choices you're
making, and you'll enjoy your time much more...

My subliminal videos have helped many hundreds of people
change their lives and overcome their challenges and
difficulties with procrastination:

http://www.mindpowerskills.info/info.php

Oh - And have a think about this:-
-------------------------------------------------
ARE YOU A "LAST MINUTE" TYPE PERSON?
-------------------------------------------------

Often our choices are made *without* us being consciously
aware of it!

Did you know that?

It's true. Your choices are made from the subconscious,
based on years of life experience.

For Example:

If you mostly put tough tasks off until the last minute, but
somehow seem to get them done anyway, then you're
"training" your subconscious not to do things until the last
minute.

This is often 'reinforced' when you congratulate yourself for
having the superior skill to pull it all together at the last
minute ...Especially if you're proud of it!

The stress and anxiety this 'skill' can cause is enormous, but
because you seem to still "get it done"... your subconscious
recognizes only that the job was done. Next time a job comes
up...

Your subconscious will make a choice based on the 'fact'
that you always seem to get the job done ...even if you leave
it to the last minute.

If this is *You*...

...Then change the real deadline to something much closer.
After you've done this a few times, the THRILL of having a
job finished well in advance of the real deadline will very
quickly replace the thrill of rushing it all through at the last
minute.

And Amazingly You'll Have ~ Much Less Stress ~

Of course, you can also reprogram your subconscious mind
the 'easy' way by using my subliminal videos, here....

Procrastination....

I shall not die, but live, ..

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them,
[and] I will praise the LORD:

This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.

I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my
salvation.

The stone [which] the builders refused is become the head
[stone] of the corner.

This is the LORD’S doing; it [is] marvellous in our eyes.

This [is] the day [which] the LORD hath made; we will rejoice
and be glad in it.

Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

Blessed [be] he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have
blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

God [is] the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the
sacrifice with cords, [even] unto the horns of the altar.

Thou [art] my God, and I will praise thee: [thou art] my God,
I will exalt thee.

O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy
[endureth] for ever.

Louis Braille (Transforming Pains into Gains for Humanity)

At the age of 3, while playing in his father's shop, Louis injured his eye on a sharp tool.

Despite the best care available at the time, infection set in and soon spread to the other eye as well, leaving him completely blind.

Fortunately, Louis' parents, together with the local priest and school teacher, were alert to his superior learning abilities and eager to provide him with the opportunity to develop them to the fullest extent possible.

So, when Louis became of school age, he was allowed to sit in the classroom to learn what he could by listening. Despite an initial assumption that his handicap would keep him well back of the other pupils, he was soon leading the class.

At the extraordinarily young age of ten, Louis was sent on scholarship to the Royal Institution for Blind Youth in Paris.

There too, most instruction was oral, although there were some books in a raised-print system developed by the school's founder, Valentin Haüy.

Once again, the diligent Louis did well at his studies, and moreover developed a considerable talent for music, first at the piano and then at the organ.

The general idea of a tactile alphabet that would allow blind persons to read and write also began to take shape in his mind at this time.

It was a French army captain, Charles Barbier de la Serre, who actually invented the basic technique of using raised dots for tactile writing and reading.

His original objective was to allow soldiers to compose and read messages at night without illumination.

Barbier later adapted the system and presented it to the Institution for Blind Youth, hoping that it would be officially adopted there.

He called the system Sonography, because it represented words according to sound rather than spelling.

While the Institution accepted Sonography only tentatively, Louis set about using and studying it with his customary intensity.

Soon he had discovered both the potential of the basic idea and the shortcomings in some of Barbier's specific provisions, such as a clumsy 12-dot cell and the phonetic basis.

Within three years, by age 15, Louis had developed the system that we know today as braille (see next section), employing a 6-dot cell and based upon normal spelling.

He also went on to lay the foundations of the braille representation of music, and in 1829 published the Method of Writing Words, Music and Plain Song by Means of Dots, for Use by the Blind and Arranged by Them.

Although Louis Braille went on to become a loved and respected teacher, was encouraged in his research, and remained secure in his own mind as to the value of his work, his system of touch reading and writing was nevertheless not very widely accepted in his own time.

Louis Braille died on January 6, 1852. In the years that followed, the practicality as well as simple elegance of his braille system was increasingly recognized, and today, in virtually every language throughout the world, it is the standard form of writing and reading used by blind persons.

If a blind child is taught braille skills with the same sense of importance that is rightly attached to the teaching of print skills to sighted children, he or she will grow up able to read at speeds comparable to print readers, a life skill of inestimable value.

Over 150 years after Louis Braille worked out his basic 6-dot system, its specific benefits remain unmatched by any later technology -- though some, computers being a prime example, both complement and contribute to braille.

I received the ray of hope from.....

Helen Keller the great star was born as a normal child but lost her sense of hearing and sight due to severe sickness.

The super lady wrote 13 books and hundreds of articles in spite of her disability.

Helen was the first deaf and blind woman of the world to graduate from college.

Life history of Helen Keller played an important role in stimulating my inspiration and remained as a tool of constant motivation.

There are barriers in my life but that will be swept away in time, like Helen Keller's barriers were swept away by her teacher.... Ms. Anne Sullivan.

I do have well wishers around me who will guide me to break away those barriers.

I salute you Ms. Anne Sullivan

Whatever happened...,

"Whatever happened,
it happened well.

Whatever is happening,
it is happening well.

Whatever will happen,
it will also happen well.

What of yours did you lose?

Why or for what are you crying?

What did you bring with you,
for you to lose it?

What did you create,
for it to be wasted or destroyed?

Whatever you took,
it was taken from here.

Whatever you gave,
it was given from here.

Whatever is yours today,
will belong to someone else tomorrow.

On another day,
it will belong to yet another.

This change is the law of the universe."

Love

Love is kind;
Love does not envy;
Love does not parade itself,
is not puffed off;

Love does not behave rudely,
does not seek its own, is not
provoked, thinks no evil;

Does not rejoice in iniquity,
but rejoices in the truth;

Bears all things, believes all
things, hopes all things,
endures all things.

LOVE NEVER FAILS.
